Doctor Spotlight: Dr. Sean Rutledge, D.C.

Dr. Sean Rutledge is our primary chiropractor in the Plymouth office. He performs diversified chiropractic care specializing in personal injury and spinal decompression. He has certifications in spinal decompression and neuropathy care.
I became a chiropractor because I like to work collaboratively with individuals to achieve their best physical health. My job is half adjusting and half giving insight into changes patients can make to not only promote overall health, but to experience the best quality of life possible. On top of all the technicalities, I like talking to people. Taking an interest in their daily life and getting to know my patients on a personal level is something I truly appreciate about my job.
I spend my free time golfing, hanging out with my friends, or trying out new restaurants with my girlfriend Heather. Not a paid endorsement, but my favorite restaurants in the area include Grey Ghost on Woodward in Downtown, and Charlie’s Still on Main in Milford. Give these places a try and you won’t be disappointed!

Love Your Heart, Love Your Spine: Chiropractic for Whole-Body Health
Chiropractic care works to restore proper alignment to the spine, removing interference to the nervous system. By correcting these misalignments — especially in the upper neck and mid-back — a chiropractic adjustment can help your nervous system find a better balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic states.
This improved nerve communication can:
- Help balance your blood pressure.
- Reduce stress and tension, promoting relaxation.
- Improve posture, allowing for deeper breathing and more efficient heart function.
- Alleviate pain, helping you stay physically active — one of the best things you can do for heart health.
Taking care of your spine is a proactive step toward managing stress, improving nerve function, and supporting your body’s natural ability to maintain a healthy heart. Your chiropractor is a key part of your whole-body wellness team!
Quick Tip: 3 Desk Stretches to Beat Tech Neck
If you spend your day looking down at a screen, you’re likely straining the muscles and joints in your neck and upper back. Use these simple stretches to interrupt the “tech neck” slump and support better posture and breathing throughout the day.
- Chin Tuck. Sit up straight and gently pull your chin straight back, as if you are trying to make a double chin. Hold for 5 seconds — you should feel a stretch at the back of your neck. Repeat 5 times.
- Shoulder Blade Squeeze. In your chair, squeeze your shoulder blades together as if you are holding a pencil between them. Keep your shoulders down and relaxed, away from your ears. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
- Ear-to-Shoulder. While sitting tall, gently tilt your right ear toward your right shoulder until you feel a light stretch on the left side of your neck. Do not lift your shoulder. Hold for 15 seconds, then repeat on the opposite side. Do 2 repetitions per side.
Both Offices Closed — Memorial Day Weekend
Both offices are closed Saturday, May 23rd and Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day Weekend. Regular hours resume Tuesday, May 26th.
