Dr. Larry Weiss
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Lawrence Weiss is a Certified Disc Specialist, National Board Certified Doctor of Chiropractic and Life University graduate, earning his Masters in the Instruction of Anatomy and Physiology from New York Chiropractic School College where he graduated with honors. Practicing for over 30 years, Dr. Weiss frequently treats up to three generations of loyal patients, many of whom have followed him no matter where he’s expanded within the Detroit market.
Now located in Novi and Plymouth, Disc Centers of America offers not only spinal decompression, but other state-of-the-art modalities such as shockwave therapy, Neurosana and cold laser therapy. Dr. Weiss has experience in providing specialized care for patients suffering from both cervical and lumbar back problems, as well as providing specialized care for patients suffering from both cervical and lumbar disc herniations, spinal stenosis, neuropathy and degenerative changes to the disc and vertebra.
Dr. Jake Weiss
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Jake Weiss is a passionate and dedicated young chiropractor who brings a refreshing energy to the world of health and wellness. A proud local, Dr. Jake grew up in the community he now serves, and his roots run deep. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University before going on to graduate from Life University with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Known for his warm personality and genuine love for people, Dr. Jake thrives on building strong, lasting relationships with his patients. He believes in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. He takes pride in helping others feel their best both physically and emotionally.
Dr. Jake has a special passion for working with athletes and children, tailoring his care to support peak performance, recovery, and healthy development. Whether he’s easing a client’s chronic pain, helping a young athlete recover from an injury, or guiding a child through wellness milestones, Dr. Jake’s approach is grounded in compassion, connection, and a deep desire to make a positive impact on every life he touches.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Jake is a true sports enthusiast. A lifelong football fan and avid golfer, he finds joy in the camaraderie and discipline that sports bring. He follows just about every sport you can think of, always staying in the loop with the latest scores and highlights. Whether he’s on the course, watching a game, or tossing the football around with friends, Dr. Jake brings the same enthusiasm and teamwork that define his professional life. His love for people, passion for wellness, and excitement for helping others make him not just a great chiropractor, but someone you genuinely enjoy being around.
Dr. Sean Rutledge
Doctor of Chiropractic
Born in Toledo, Ohio and raised in Commerce Township, Michigan, Dr. Sean Rutledge brings a lifelong commitment to health, athletic performance, and patient-centered care to his role at Weiss Chiropractic and Disc Centers of America.
A graduate of Michigan State University and Life University in Marietta, Georgia, following the footsteps of stepfather Dr. Larry Weiss, Dr. Sean earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, inspired by his part time experience as a Chiropractic Assistant while observing Dr. Larry during undergrad.
Now serving as a full-time Chiropractor, Dr. Sean is passionate about helping patients reclaim their mobility, reduce pain, and achieve lasting wellness. He is certified in Spinal and Knee Decompression, and brings specialized training to those suffering from disc injuries, chronic knee conditions, and joint degeneration.
A former three-sport athlete in hockey, football, and baseball, Dr. Sean understands the importance of proper alignment, recovery, and performance—knowledge he applies daily in practice. Whether treating everyday aches or athletic injuries, he’s known for his approachable style, clinical precision, and unwavering dedication to each patient’s progress.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sean is a loyal fan of Detroit sports. You’ll often find him cheering on the Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers, no matter the season. He’s also involved with the Miracle League of Plymouth, Brightmoor Church Men’s Golf League and any other golf league he can get his hands on!

Dr. Haley Brefka
Physician Clinic Director
Dr. Haley Brefka is a dedicated and compassionate Doctor of Chiropractic, proudly serving the community with a commitment to holistic health and wellness. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life University in Marietta, Georgia, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the body’s intricate systems.
As a licensed and nationally board-certified chiropractor, Dr. Haley employs a diverse range of techniques to address each patient’s unique needs and promote optimal health.
Her extensive training includes proficiency in various chiropractic methods, and she has a passion for helping patients of all ages, from children to seniors. Growing up playing sports all her life, Dr. Haley has a special interest in working with athletes, drawing from her own experience to help them optimize performance, prevent injuries, and recover from sports-related issues. Certified in the Webster Technique, Dr. Haley is also highly trained in providing care for pregnant women, offering specialized treatment before, during, and after pregnancy to ensure a healthy, pain-free experience. This wide array of techniques allows her to tailor her approach to each individual, ensuring effective and personalized care.
Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Dr. Haley graduated from Central Michigan University before pursuing her passion for chiropractic care. Her journey into the field was inspired by a desire to help others achieve better health and enhance their quality of life.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Haley enjoys spending time with family and friends, hitting the golf course, and playing with her two beloved huskies, Rory and Nova.

Riley Lockard
Chiropractic Assistant
Riley joined Weiss Chiropractic Plymouth in 2023, and can now be found at both Plymouth and Novi offices. Throughout her career as a Chiropractic Assistant, what Riley values most is participating in pain-relieving patient care, and watching them transform into a totally different, pain-free person! Riley lives in Garden City and in her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family/friends, or her favorite, just relaxing at home!
Nicole St. John
Chiropractic Assistant
As a Chiropractic Assistant at Weiss Chiropractic, Nicole blends compassion with excellent customer service to support patients on their wellness journey. She assists with patient check-ins, therapy sessions, scheduling, and behind-the-scenes coordination that keeps the office running efficiently.
Nicole takes pride in creating a supportive, approachable atmosphere where patients feel truly cared for. She believes in the power of chiropractic care and is honored to be part of a team dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the community.
When she’s not at the clinic, Nicole enjoys baking, photography, and spending time with her family.
